PROBLEM

Students face challenges in selecting and initiating payments for subscriptions, particularly when relying on parents to complete transactions. Parents, as decision-makers, require a transparent and secure payment experience to feel confident in approving and processing these payments.

How do we make 
the process seamless for students?

PAIN POINTS

Students
might feel overwhelmed with selecting a subscription plan when there are too many choices upfront. In addition to that, the payment process can feel intimidating, especially when involving parental approval

USER NEEDS

They need an easy way to select plans and initiate payments, especially if they don’t have direct control over payments (hence the request-to-parent feature)

Students 

are betwen 14–18 years old and primarily use mobile devices for payments

Parents 

are between 40–50 years old
and use desktop or mobile devices for payments depending on the situation

How do we build trust and clarity for parents?

PAIN POINTS

Parents may feel hesitant about completing a payment link they received, so clarity and a sense of security are essential

USER NEEDS

They require a seamless and secure payment experience that communicates trust and transparency, as they may be unfamiliar with Medly AI and will want reassurance that it’s a safe, valuable investment

OVERWHELMED BY PRICING OPTIONS

The Plan Selection Page allows users to first view and compare each plan's features, before moving on to the Pricing Page. This helps users make a confident choice without feeling overwhelmed by pricing options.

Free Plan: they gain access to basic features

Premium Plan: they're directed to a Pricing Page where they can select a payment frequency and can complete the payment process with Apple Pay or request a payment link to be sent to their parent

POTENTIAL SCAMS

Once the student initiates a payment request, the parent will receive an email with the secure payment link.

Since the student may not have discussed this request with their parent, the message includes clear branding and relevant details, such as the student's name and their school, to establish trust and alleviate concerns about potential scams.

PAYMENT AND CONFIRMATION

The link will open a Payment Form, where the parent can adjust the payment frequency if that suits their needs better. After completing the payment, they will be directed to a Confirmation Page with a CTA leading to Medly AI's homepage, offering them the opportunity to learn more.
